ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:
Ms. Alexandra Th. Lalieu is a 4th Dan Certified Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan (Sa Bom) Master Instructor who has been studying this Art for 25 years so far, having started on July 8, 1986. She trains weekly with her instructor, 6th Dan Master Edward Frampton, in New Windsor, NY and twice a month at U.S. Federation National Headquarters in Springfield, NJ with 10th Dan Grandmaster Hyun Chul Hwang, the son and successor of the late Hwang Kee (1914-2002). Ms. Lalieu finds her greatest joy in serving both youth and adults through this Art, thus participating in the continued growth and strengthening of our community through education and awareness.
Mrs. Barbara Schmitt is a 3rd Dan Certified Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan (Kyo Sa) Instructor. She has been training in the martial arts since October of 2001, and has been studying Soo Bahk Do from the very first day Upstate Karate opened on February 24th, 2004. Her vast experience in all aspects of helping children and adults, coupled with her charismatic, upbeat teaching style, has earned her great respect and admiration both as an instructor at our studio and as a leader in the community.
